His story is also that of a Romani and flamenco tradition rooted in Andalusia, meeting the musical spirit of the Mediterranean and reaching millions of listeners across the globe.<\/p>\n As one of the most distinctive voices in the space Gipsy Kings carved out in world music, Baliardo -the band\u2019s guitarist and co-founder- did not just leave his mark on an era of music; he also played a pivotal role in reintroducing the flamenco guitar on an international scale. Spanning from “Bambol\u00e9o” to “Djobi Djoba,” and “Volare” to many more songs etched into our memories over the years, this repertoire united different cultures under the exact same rhythm. The music of the Gipsy Kings sometimes leaned into the boundaries of pop, and at times remained deep within the veins of traditional flamenco, but it never compromised its own character. Tonino Baliardo\u2019s guitar played an undeniable role in shaping this identity.<\/p>\n Decades, countless stages, countries, albums, and a constantly changing music world\u2026 Baliardo has moved through all these transformations without ever losing touch with his roots. The worldwide success achieved with the Gipsy Kings was not an ending for him, but rather the beginning of new musical explorations.
